Job Title: Payroll Specialist

Location: Fountain Valley, CA (100% Onsite)

Schedule: Monday-Friday, 8:00 AM-5:00 PM

Employment Type: Temp to Hire

Salary: $35-$40/hr. DOE

We're partnering with a well-established national organization seeking a Payroll Specialist to support payroll operations for a large, multi-state workforce.

This role is ideal for a payroll professional who enjoys being hands-on with payroll processing, compliance, reporting, and HRIS administration. You'll serve as a key resource for employees and business leaders while ensuring accurate, timely payroll execution across multiple states.

What You'll Be Doing

  • Process biweekly payroll for a large multi-state employee population
  • Administer ADP Workforce Now, including Payroll, Time & Attendance, HRIS, Tax, and Reporting modules
  • Audit payroll and timekeeping data to ensure accuracy and compliance
  • Manage garnishments, tax levies, employment verifications, and payroll adjustments
  • Generate payroll reports and support audits
  • Respond to employee payroll inquiries and provide exceptional customer service
  • Partner closely with HR, Finance, Operations, and leadership teams on payroll-related matters
  • Maintain compliance with federal, state, and local wage and hour regulations

What We're Looking For

  • 4-8 years of payroll experience, including multi-state payroll processing
  • Experience supporting a high-volume employee population
  • Strong working knowledge of payroll compliance and wage & hour regulations
  • Hands-on experience with ADP Workforce Now preferred
  • Advanced attention to detail and problem-solving skills
  • Bachelor's degree preferred
  • CPP, PHR, or SHRM certifications are a plus
